With the crazy Christmas and New Year parties gone, the body truly needs some adequate care and rest. Loads of fun, sleepless nights, gallons of drink and food must have kept you on through the madness but as the party season becomes past, the side effects do show up and how. The first signs of fatigue show on your face and when it shows on your face, you know that the problem is deep down the skin. If you aren’t aware yet, take a thorough look in the mirror.
You see that? Do not freak out. It happens with almost all of us after the heavy party season. All you need to know is how to regain your natural glowing skin health and recover from the body fatigue. Here are some easy and simple tips that you can follow in order to detox your skin, hair and body to get back to your beautiful self within a week!
First Thing’s First
Partying without makeup is a sin. And you commit even more sin by not removing makeup properly before going to bed. Parties go on till late night and this means, the makeup remains on your skin for a very long time. Most of us feel so tired after long hours of partying that we go to bed immediately without removing the makeup. And nothing can do worse to the skin than this.
Yes of course! Many of you have missed this out. And now will have to face the consequences, whether you like it or not. So, read on.
How to Take Care of Your Skin
You know well that makeup, when not removed properly, leaves residues on your skin cells that can eventually lead to dry, dull and rough skin, clogged pores and acne. You can easily detox the skin and get rid of the residues gradually by using some simple home ingredients that are easily available in your kitchen.
Drop your regular face wash and cleansing milks for some days. Take 2 tbsp refined wheat flour and add adequate amount of milk and half teaspoon lime juice to make a paste of medium consistency (it should not be runny). If you have oily skin, replace the milk with yoghurt. Now apply this paste on your face and neck and leave on for 20 minutes. No need to dry. If it gets dry, dab some milk or plain water and rub your skin in circular motion for 5 minutes. Wash off with plain water.
It is very important to exfoliate your skin. After cleansing, make a paste with 2 tbsp gram flour, 1 tbsp semolina, half tsp turmeric powder (leave this if you are allergic to turmeric), 2 tsp yoghurt and 1 tsp honey. Apply this on your face, neck and body and leave it on for 2-3 minutes. Rub and wash off with plain water.
Do not forget to tone up your skin. You may use your regular toner or if you want to keep it all natural, then here’s what you can make your natural toner with for that extra care. Since makeup tends to make your skin dry and dull, you must emphasise on hydrating your skin properly. Take half a cucumber and take out the juice. In this, add equal amount of rose water. Mix well and apply on your face with a cotton ball. You can store this toner in the refrigerator for a week. If you have oily and acne prone skin, then you may add a pinch of pure camphor into this juice and mix well.
Moisturise your face with a natural moisturizer. If you have oily and sensitive skin or acne prone skin, then smash a ripe papaya to make a paste and apply on your face. Leave on for 20 minutes and wash off with cold water. This will help hydrate your skin well, hold on the moisture and help you to regain your radiant skin fast. It can also be applied on normal skin.
If you have dry skin, take a teaspoon of normal edible butter (without salt is preferable) and mix 1 tsp of honey with it to make a thick paste. Leave on for 10-15 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.
For all skin types, use a fruit pack made of kiwi. It is very useful to bring back the radiant glowing skin fast.
Under-eye treatment is as important as any other facial part. The skin around the eyes will need extra care during this time. Wet cotton balls in rose water that you have refrigerated and place them over the eyes. Remove after 10 minutes and then massage a few drops of almond oil with circular anti-clockwise movements. Leave on for 15 minutes and then wipe off well with wet cotton.
